C++ Compilers

The C++ programming language was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup at AT&T Bell Labs as an extension to the C language. Stroustrup's original "C++ compiler" was actually a front-end pre-processor — called Cfront — that generated "C" code that was then compiled with a C compiler. Starting in 1985, Cfront was distributed externally by AT&T to universities as well as to commercial companies. Early commercial C++ compiler products came from firms such as Glockenspiel, Oregon Software, and Borland.

Today, the C++ is a mainstream development language with compilers available from a range of companies.

For more than 25 years, first as Programmer's Paradise, TechXtend has focused on serving software development professionals. We provide C++ compiler software from companies including Intel, Embarcadero, Microsoft, Micro Focus, The Portland Group and Pathscale.
